Tools Guide for Aluminium Fences, Gates, and Screens
Installing a Buildable Materials fence, gate or screen requires a few standard tools. Here's a list of what we like to use.
Assembly
For assembly of panels and gates, we suggest the following tools:
- Tape measure
- Sharp pencil
- Rubber or wooden mallet
- Electric drill or impact driver
- Drop saw with aluminium cutting blade (if cutting materials to size)
- Calculator
- Sharp knife for unwrapping materials
Installation
Installing aluminium panels or gates requires different tools depending on the type of posts you are using.
Cement-set Aluminium Posts
For cement-set aluminium posts, we suggest the following tools:
- Tape measure
- Sharp pencil
- Spirit level
- Post hole shovel or auger
- Crowbar or jackhammer for hard digging
- Cement
- Electric drill or impact driver for fixing panels to the post
- Circular saw with aluminium cutting blade to cut posts to size
